facilitate the interactive, hands-on fun!

90 minute parties include:

60 minutes of:
Instrument making
- As the guests arrive, we create make-n-take shakers or tambourines from Scrap Exchange or recyclable materials. Each child has a fun party favor to take home.

Parents - We also offer additional party favor bags for an extra $ 4-5/child. We use white decorated bags that include 2 good quality instruments (not toys) and a lollipop:

  • 1 kazoo or egg shaker
  • 1 maraca or recorder or slide whistle, and
  • 1 musical note lollipop

Drumming with rhythm games - Children learn how to play bass, tone and rumble on hand drums. We use mostly West African drums like, Djembes and Ashikos and Djun Djuns. While learning fun rhythm games, each child gets to lead the group. Parents are encouraged to participate.

Stories with drumming & hand percussion - American Folk, Chinese or African stories that include drumming and a wide variety of hand percussion.

Harriet the Hare for the younger set (ages 3-7) - a cute, fun, ventriloquist puppet! Older kids and adults like Harriet, too. Especially her two carrot necklace! (Every girl's dream. For children ages 8 and up, we just do drumming and hand percussion.)

30 minutes for parent- provided party food enjoyment and
present opening.

Party fees vary - Onsite parties start at $185 for up to 15 children. $5/each over 15 guests. Off-site parties, when we come to you, start at $250.

New offering: the Green option! For just $15 more, we will provide colorful plastic plates, cups, forks, spoons & table cloth and napkins (which we do toss). We use colorful washable ware, which means we cut down on the party throw-aways, which cuts down on landfill waste, which helps fight global warming. AND you don't have to buy stuff you'll just throw away. We all win!!

Fees vary according to number of children and location of party. Parties at our site have a lower fee than off-site parties.
